Wandering about the small rural villages of Alto Minho is a matchless pleasure, a unique way to learn at close and first hand the local traditions and ethnography.
The small village of Gaviães is a fine example of these typical villages of Minho. Walk through its narrow alleys and admire the typical houses and the raccards, some of them more traditional, others more recent and modified. However, its main attraction is the magnificent panoramic over the greenish mountains… Feast your eyes on the cultivated fields organized in terraces, often dotted with other villages… To make the scenery even more beautiful, and opposing the cultivated terrains, there are pastures full of herds. If you’re lucky, you’ll be able to glimpse some little goats jumping from rock to rock... A truly unmissable show!
