The religious heritage of Cerveira deserves special attention for its richness and variety. The Igreja Paroquial de Gondarém, also known as Igreja de São Pedro, is a fine example of the regional Manueline style.
Standing in the middle of a small and flowery mountainside courtyard, overlooking the Minho River valley, the church enjoys a magnificent surrounding with benches where to relax while admiring the harmony of the building and the landscape.
Inside the church, don’t miss the two near-true size wooden sculptures of São Pedro and São Paulo covered in polychrome painting on the main altar.
