The Church of Espírito Santo is located on a promontory over the valley of the river Vez, in the village of Arcos de Valdevez. It was built between 1647 and 1681, having undergone major works during the 19th century. So, despite being of Mannerist tradition, the facade in itself is neoclassical, with sober lines. Inside, there are examples of Mannerist and Baroque carving and painting. The Interpretive Centre of the Baroque currently operates within this building, where, using virtual and augmented reality technologies, we can learn about the region's monuments, the Baroque period and the Church of Espírito Santo itself. Take the opportunity to visit, in the vicinity, the Jardim dos Centenários (Garden of the Centenarians, the Mother Church and the Church of Lapa, which are also part of the Route of the Baroque.
